Our Founding Physicians

Three Specialists. One Standard of Care.

PreserveHealth was founded by three board-certified nephrologists and internal medicine physicians who share a conviction: that patients with complex, high-risk chronic disease deserve more than the standard of care allows. Each brings a distinct expertise — together, they form a practice built for the cases that require the most.

Eric A. Wechsler, MD, FNKF

Founder · Nephrologist

Dr. Eric Wechsler has been elected twice by his peers to chair the Division of Nephrology at Hoag Hospital Newport Beach. He founded Southern California Kidney Associates in 2008 and has practiced in Orange County for more than twenty years. As founder and CEO of Nephrology Specialists IPA, he leads a care management program covering more than 4,000 patients across Southern California — where planned dialysis starts rose from 11% to over 60% and time to transplant listing fell by more than a year under his leadership. He built PreserveHealth because the medicine he wanted to practice — unhurried, proactive, genuinely accessible — had stopped being possible inside a fifteen-minute visit.
